Stonier appoints safety director

Third-party logistics firm Stonier Transportation Group has appointed Roger Salter as director of safety and compliance.

Salter will be responsible for developing and implementing driver safety procedures for trucks operated by Stonier, as well as tracking the safety performance of motor carriers that Stonier uses in its freight forwarding business.

Jacksonville, FL-based Stonier said it has contracts with more than 7,000 motor carriers, with access to 165,000 pieces of rolling stock. Stonier also owns trucks that operate in Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, Georgia and Connecticut.
