Teamster-UPS talks to continue Monday
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has presented United Parcel Service (UPS) with a counter-proposal in talks for a new contract, which covers more than 210,000 UPS workers and expires July 31. Negotiations are scheduled to resume on Monday.
"UPS' latest offer fails to address the issues that are most important to our members," said Ken Hall, co-chair of the Teamster's national negotiating committee. "We are very far apart on the economic terms of the contract.
Hall said he has urged UPS to submit proposals that reflect the contributions of Teamsters to UPS' success.
UPS has repeatedly stated publicly its desire to achieve an early settlement.
