Working with the equipment manufacturer Komatsu America International Co., Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions will develop a web-based service for tracking and managing construction equipment. It will serve current Komatsu customers who operate, service, sell or lease construction, utility and mining equipment.

Building on Komatsu's existing Komtrax asset management system, the new web site will provide fleets with online access to equipment location, engine hour and usage reports, and real-time maintenance data, according to Qualcomm. The site will also allow fleets to manage field service trucks equipped with Qualcomm's OmniTRACS or OmniExpress mobile communications systems.
