The severe-service International 7000 Series is the newest addition to International Truck and Engine Corp.'s High Performance Truck family. According to International, the trucks were specifically designed for construction, waste and municipal fleets. “The International 7000 Series redefines high performance for an industry that works under the toughest conditions,” said Steve Keate, president-truck group.

The Class 7-8 trucks are available in 4×2, 6×4 and all-wheel-drive configurations in GVWRs from 27,000 to 66,000 lb. Power is supplied by International wet-sleeved I-6 engines in ratings from 195 to 340 hp. Applications include dump, mixer, rear- and side-loader waste collection and municipal plow/dump spreader combos.

Vehicle features include an e-coat dip/base coat/urethane clear-coat paint process for corrosion and fade resistance; Huck-bolted frame rails with optional “C” channel reinforcements; standard rear cab air suspension; and a cooling system that is mounted above the frame rail to avoid damage and to allow front engine-mounted PTO shafts to pass underneath.

A 50-deg. wheel cut enhances maneuverability, and outward visibility is aided by the swept-back angle and curved design of the windshield, as well as the sloped hood. Well-placed offset steps, wide door openings and grab handles positioned inside the cab ease entry and exit.
