Dana Corp. announced its Dana Spicer Torsionally Tuned-40 (DST40) tandem drive axle is now available for Volvo VN tractors manufactured by Volvo Trucks North America, Inc.

The tandem drive axle is a component of the Roadranger Torsionally Tuned System, which is a new addition to the Volvo VN. The DST40 reduces inter-axle driveline angles and improves drivetrain durability and performance while reducing size, weight and costs, said Dana.

“When the DTS40 is specified with other leading Roadranger components, the result is the industry’s only torsionally tuned system of drivetrain components,” said Nick Cole, president of Dana Heavy Vehicle Technologies and Systems Group.
