Monaca, PA-based PGT, a flatbed carrier that primarily serves the steel and building construction industries, plans to deploy an additional 165 MobileMax2 units. Prior to this upgrade, Aether said PGT used 116 MobileMax2 units, with an additional 254 trucks using an earlier version of Aether's product. With the upgrade, the carrier will now have 281 MobileMax2 units.
Owing Mills, MD-based Aether said its MobileMax2 data terminal transmits data messages and GPS position reports, along with data on vehicle fault codes and driver performance. The information allows companies to evaluate individual driver and vehicle performance, notify operations when a vehicle engine exceeds specified parameters and determine the distance vehicles travel in each state.
Aether said PGT wants to use such data to manage drivers' idle time, reduce out-of-route miles and minimize fleet maintenance costs.
