Ann Arbor, MI-based Con-way Freight won Wal-Mart’s “Carrier of the Year award” in part due to its service to the retailer’s stores and distribution centers during the recovery from Hurricane Katrina last year.
Con-way said it was the only LTL carrier so honored, with the award given based on daily on-time service performance, delivery coverage, transit times, flexibility, commitment and excellence.
“Wal-Mart honors are very gratifying. They speak directly to the dedication and ability of all Con-way personnel to go above and beyond whether it’s daily delivery of freight or helping others during difficult times,” said Dave McClimon, president of Con-way Freight.
