LAS VEGAS – Weighing less than 900 lbs. with tires and wheels, the industry’s only 8,000-lb. capacity steerable lift axle was introduced at the International Trucking Show by Watson and Chalin Manufacturing Inc.

The Tru-Track Super Lite weighs 374 lbs. less than the lightest similar axle previously offered, Watson’s 13,200-lb. capacity unit.

In a typical dump truck application with three lift-axles, the Tru-Track Super Lite saves over 1,100 lbs. compared to the 13,200-lb. unit, according to Richard Rickman, Watson director of sales.

Among the features of the new axle are 17.5-in wheels and tires and an international brake size from Arvin Meritor. Like other Watson steerables, it has 13.5-in. of axle travel, maintenance-free Huck fasteners and a 5-yr. warranty.
