Taylor Made Environmental has developed a new series of auxiliary air conditioning systems designed to cool or heat a vehicle's living quarters without running the engine.

The system consists of a 14,000-Btu condensing unit mounted in the truck's undercarriage and a 16,000-Btu ductable cooling/heating unit in the sleeper. Insulated refrigerant tubes connect the two units, and all functions are managed by a microprocessor control system.

The auxiliary truck air conditioning system is designed to work with a variety of AC electrical power sources, including onboard generators, inverters and shore-power hookups.

The integrated cooling and heating systems are designed for original equipment and aftermarket applications, according to Lou Siegel, vp-sales and marketing.
