A full-featured tool for measuring and analyzing actual fleet performance has been developed for Fleet Advisor, QUALCOMM's fleet management system.
The company also announced a number of other upgrades for the system and its MPVc on-board computer during NPTC's annual conference in St. Louis.
Management Advisor uses real-time vehicle and route data collected by FleetAdvisor to provide a wide range of reports on actual fleet performance that can be used by all levels of management, according to Monica Wyly,, sr. manager, business development for QUALCOMM's Wireless Business Solutions.
It can be used by line staff to measure daily operational efficiency, as well as by top line managers to measure the value of operational adjustments.
All reports are exportable as Excel files, making them easily accessible to anyone in an organization, Wyly says. The application is scheduled for release later this year.
Other upgrades for FleetAdvisor include automatic exception reporting for monitoring driver and vehicle performance and the move to a web-based architecture for simplifying installation and deployment of the system. The company's Windows CE onboard computer, the MVPc has also been upgraded with a new LCD screen said to offer improved readability.
