WeatherBug and on-demand incident notification provider Send Word Now today launched a cellular location-based two-way severe weather warning system.

WeatherBug’s Smart Notification Weather Service distinguishes itself from zip code-based services by formatting alerts for supported mobile devices. It also supports two-way messages for voice and SMS text email messages, providing the issuer a delivery status and user response, said WeatherBug.

Alerts may be customized based on user-defined thresholds.
