The Diesel Technology Forum (DTF) have commended New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority, CSX Transportation Inc. and Puget Sound Clean Air Agency and Partners, for receiving the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s 2001 Clean Air Excellence Awards.

“Engine makers, fuel suppliers and manufacturers of emissions control devices have all worked together during the past two decades to reduce emissions from diesel engines dramatically, while at the same time improving reliability, durability and fuel efficiency,” said executive director Allen Schaeffer. “We’re pleased to see that EPA recognizes clean diesel technology will be an important part of our country’s continuous air quality improvement.”

The annual awards program honors exceptional and innovative advancements in achieving cleaner air.
