Logistics provider Transplace has added mileage and route features to its services with a license for Rand-McNally's TrueTrackwit IntelliRoute software. The software's GPS capabilities will also allow Transplace to offer its shippers and carriers tracking and tracing services.
The client/server fleet management system TMWSuite is now being marketed in Western Europe through the newly formed TMW International Ltd. Headquartered in London and headed by Andrew Muir, TMW International will offer the management suite to fleets in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
Truckload carrier Contract Freighters Inc. (CFI) has extended its contract for wireless communications services with @Track Communications Inc.. The fleet operates over 2,000 tractors in the U.S. and Canada. @Track has also announced a contract extension with SBC Communications Inc. for its service-vehicle fleets.
Prophesy Mileage and Routing software has been updated to include changes in speed limits, exit numbers, zip codes and other routing information. The program, which offers street-level mapping, calculates both practical and standard rating miles, and can be integrated with Prophesy's other fleet management applications.
