Schneider Logistics, Inc., part of Schneider National, has signed an agreement to acquire American Port Services, a provider of port transloading/deconsolidation, warehousing, and distribution services. The acquisition will give Schneider a presence in major U.S. ports and will make the company the first full truckload provider to offer transloading services, Schneider said.

American Port Services has operations in Savannah, GA, Norfolk, VA, Charleston, SC, Houston, TX, Seattle, WA and Long Beach, CA.

“Linking the inland truckload/deconsolidation, intermodal and third party capacity of Schneider National with American Port Services’ transloading and port dray operation will create a unique port-to-door import logistics service,” said Chris Lofgren, Schneider National president & CEO said.

“This acquisition allows us to deliver on our promise of being one of the most integrated and comprehensive supply chain resources in the industry,” said Schneider Logistics president Tom Escott.
