Sweden’s Volvo Group— whose holdings include Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks and Renault Trucks— reported strong NAFTA truck deliveries, posting a 41% increase to 29,369 units between January and August over the same period last year.
Volvo Trucks was particularly successful in expanding its NAFTA deliveries, with a 58% increase between January and August over the same period last year. Volvo Trucks totaled 15,225 deliveries in North America.
Mack deliveries were also brisk, posting a 28% increase over the same period last year in the region to total 14,000 units. “The market strength continues to be most evident in the long-haul truckload segment, which is not among Mack’s core market segments,” AB Volvo stated. However, renewed buying interest among its construction segment customers also contributed, the OEM said.
Volvo Group’s delivery output growth was slower at its largest-grossing region, Europe, with an 11% increase to 63,024 units. Its holdings in Asia and South America are showing very strong growth with a 67% increase to 13,017 units, and a 66% rise to 5,636 units, respectively.
