Nominations for Goodyear's 19th annual Highway Heroes program will be accepted until October 15. The Highway Hero program was created by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. to recognize professional truck drivers and the life-saving rescues and roadside assistance they provide as their jobs take them across North America.
Rick Howell, Goodyear's director for commercial systems, said the company has heard hundreds of stories of bravery and selflessness through the program.
“We believe that the public should hear about these acts of heroism as well," Howell said.
Nomination forms are available online and can be made by calling the Goodyear Highway Hero Hotline at (800) 627-2118.
All nominees must be full-time truck drivers, reside in the United States or Canada, and the incident must have occurred in the United States or Canada. The nominee must have been on the job or on the way to or from work and in his or her rig at the time of the incident.
