Diesel drops again

The national average price for a gallon of diesel dropped 0.6 cents to $2.882 for the week ending May 28, according to the Energy Information Administration – marking the second consecutive week of decreasing prices.

But not all regions saw a decline. Prices rose two cents to $3.044 in the Rocky Mountain region and California remained the most expensive region in which to fill up, despite a 0.7-cent drop to $3.227. New England got the biggest relief at the pump as prices dropped 1.6 cents to $2.966. The Gulf Coast region once again enjoyed the lowest prices after a modest 0.3-cent decline to $2.798.
