Tele Atlas/Logistics, a digital map database for routing road-restricted vehicles, was named Best Commercial Vehicle Application at the 2006 Telematics Update event, which was held in Detroit recently.

Introduced last January, the product contains a network of over 7.5-million miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada that is layered with restriction categories, including preferred routes; weight, height and length; hazardous materials; and truck type, according to the company.

Tele Atlas partners with software providers to leverage its data for applications related to dispatching, routing, load sequencing and tracking.
