FedEx Freight appoints three executives

FedEx Freight, FedEx Corp.’s LTL subsidiary that combines the operating companies of regional LTL subsidiaries American Freightways (AF) and Viking Freight, has appointed three new senior managers. Dennie C. Carey, formerly executive vp-marketing at AF, is now vp-marketing for FedEx Freight. Dennie C. Carey, formerly executive vp-marketing at AF, is now vp-marketing for FedEx Freight. Carey will oversee the corporate sales function of AF and Viking’s corporate account sales teams as well as managing strategic marketing for FedEx Freight.

Edward C. Alderman has been named director of international development. He comes to the organization from AF where he was vp-international/offshore sales development.

Robert Rhea will take on the role of vp and general counsel, overseeing all legal and security areas for the FedEx Freight companies. Rhea, formerly with the Baker, Donelson, Bearman & Caldwell law firm in Memphis, spent the last seven years with FedEx Corp. and FedEx Express where he held senior attorney and managing director positions in contract and business transactions and legal technology transactions.
