The Midnight Cowboy Trucking Network named Eric Harley as the new host of its national radio show. The Midnight Cowboy Trucking Network named Eric Harley as the new host of its national radio show. The network's programming will continue to evolve to meet the needs of the “next generation trucker,” including providing them with up-to-the-minute news and information.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has expanded the number of Inspection Familiarization seminars to 42, up from 10 last year. Registration for the seminar, which will be held throughout the U.S. and in Ontario, Canada, is $199. For more information, call CVSA at 301-564-1623.

Peterbilt awarded six lucky attendees of the Mid-America Trucking Show one-year TruckCare Preventive Maintenance packages. Winners included Bill Johnson, owner of Newberry, FL-based Johnson Transport, and Ian Warrack, a fleet owner from Strathmore, Alberta. The PM package is valued at $1,500 and includes a 75-point inspection, filter replacements, chassis lube, and priority scheduling and servicing.

Grand prize winners of the Truckload Carriers Assn.'s 2000 National Fleet Safety Contest were announced at the group's annual meeting last month in San Antonio. Voyager Express, Denver, won the award for truckload carriers operating under-25 million miles annually; Metropolitan Trucking, Paterson, NJ, took first place in the category of over-25 million miles annually. Winners for the contest, which is sponsored by Trailmobile, are selected based on low-accident-frequency per million miles.
