Timothy P. Lynch was appointed to American Trucking Assns.’ (ATA) new position of senior vp—federal relations and strategic planning, effective Oct. 3, 2005. Lynch is charged with executing plans to further public policies that benefit ATA and its members.

Additionally, he will coordinate ATA’s affiliated and non-affiliated organizations, including its councils and conferences.

Lynch will leave his current post as president & CEO of Motor Freight Carriers Assn. (MFCA). According to a MFCA news release, the trade group will defer its role in representing unionized truck companies to Trucking Management Inc.

“The original goal of MFCA was to give unionized truck companies—both large and small—a greater voice in public policy and economic issues affecting the industry,” said Lynch. “That goal can be strategically met through the individual companies or other industry trade associations.”
