East Coast truckers will get a jolt Saturday when toll rates double at the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, the Fort McHenry Tunnel, and the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Additionally, tolls will increase on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway (I-95 in Perryville) and the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (U.S. 40 across the Susquehanna River) by 25 percent.
These toll increases will apply to all cash paying customers, regardless of whether or not the vehicle is a commuter (two-axle) or commercial (three-or-more-axle) vehicle.
However, the current discounted toll rates available for two-axle commuter vehicles using the E-ZPass electronic toll collection system will not be increased. Commercial vehicles with three-or-more-axles will have their rates increased regardless of whether they are using E-ZPass or paying cash for their tolls.
