Yokohama Tire Corporation has introduced the TY577 tire which offers a deep 30/32nds tread depth that aids in delivering long tread wear life, company officials said.

The new tire is equipped with a combination of STEM-2 technology, which redirects normally destructive internal strain, reinforcing the casing to allow multiple retreads, and MC² compounding technology, which generates less heat, allowing longer casing life and decreased rolling resistance. Because of these technologies, the TY577 is able to reduce heat and increase tread wear life, according to Yokohama officials.

They added that the TY577 has a Stress Wear Control Groove specifically positioned to redistribute the load on the outside rib of the tire, reducing shoulder step down wear. A closed shoulder rib means more rubber-to-the-road contact and increased mileage. The TY577 also uses a newly-contoured bead design, allowing the tire to seat evenly against the rim for extremely high uniformity levels around the entire circumference for better tire-to-rim fit, smoother ride, and long even wear.

The TY577 is available in four sizes: 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5 - all with a 14-ply rating. The tire is supported by an extended warranty covering the product for five-years through three retreads.
