The International Brotherhood of Teamsters will begin a series of radio spots this week to oppose the opening the U.S. border to Mexican trucks. The 60-second commercials will run on radio stations in Washington, DC.
The advertisements were produced in conjunction with Greener and Hook, a local political media firm, and will highlight the Teamster’s safety concerns regarding Mexican trucks.
The radio commercials will say that, out of more than four and a half million trucks crossing the U.S. border in 2000, less than 1% were inspected and that more than one-third of Mexican trucks that were inspected failed.
