GM to Invest $150 Million in Truck Plant

General Motors (GM) has announced its plans to invest nearly $450 million in two of its Flint, MI plants.

The auto giant plans to pour $150 million into its Flint truck assembly plant to refurbish the facility for new machinery, tooling and equipment to prepare for future full-size truck products. This plant now builds the crew cab version of the Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full-size pickups, Chevy Kodiak and GMC Topkick medium-duty commercial trucks.

GM plans to invest $300 million to expand its Flint Engine South plant for production of its V-6 engines, which are used in GM mid-size SUVs such as the Chevy TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy.
