Ryder System has been awarded a multi-year contract by the United States Postal Service to develop and manage a plan to optimize USPS’s non-mail freight transportation nationwide.

Ryder will provide transportation procurement, shipment planning and execution, compliance management and other related services. The rollout will be completed in November, Ryder said.

“We appreciate the confidence the USPS has shown in our transportation and supply chain management capabilities,” said Tony Tegnelia, Ryder’s president of U.S. Supply Chain Solutions. “Ryder is looking forward to collaborating with the USPS to find new ways to improve service levels and optimize the performance of the USPS’s transportation network.”
