Mack Trucks unveiled the TerraPro cabover at the World of Concrete show in Las Vegas. Designed for refuse, construction and heavy-work applications, the OEM considers it an “evolution” of the Mack MR model.

According to Mack, one of the main attributes of the TerraPro is its new driver environment, which is designed to maximize comfort and productivity. Steve Ginter, Mack's vocational products manager, says new features include more ergonomically designed seats with integrated armrests; easy-to-read gauges and switches; and accelerator and brake pedals suspended above the cab floor for easier use.

The TerraPro also features the latest version of Mack's Vehicle Management and Control System, V-MAC IV, which allows customers to better monitor truck and engine performance. The truck's in-cab Control Link and back-of-cab Body Link II interface systems provide quick connections to truck body control units as well as pass-through harnesses and connectors, says Ginter.

The TerraPro can be spec'd with the Mack M-Ride six-rod suspension, allowing articulation of up to 17 in. An 11L Mack MP7 engine, offered in a 325 to 405 hp., with torque ratings from 1,200 to 1,560 lb.-ft., is standard. A 13L MP8, at 415-485 hp. and torque levels of 1,540 - 1,700 lb.-ft., is optional. www.macktrucks.com
