PeopleNet Communications, a provider of vehicle locating and mobile communications solutions, has appointed Vikas Jain CTO. Jain comes to PeopleNet Communications from telecommunications provider Ericsson, where he was a member of the company's mobile terminal group and mobile Internet group.

Jain, who has patents in communication software, has been involved in several key initiatives at Ericsson, including leading the software research and development team for the New Concepts group and business consulting as part of the company's Mobile Internet initiative.
