Truckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services said its net income in the first quarter of 2002 climbed to over $3.6 million compared to just over $2.6 million in the same period last year. Revenues also increased in the first quarter, climbing 8.4% to $63.3 million compared to $58.4 million in the same quarter of 2001.

P.A.M. President Robert Weaver said the company's dry van business has been strong in the first quarter of this year. He added that a successful stock offering by the Tonititown, AR-based carrier had a "significant positive impact" on its first quarter balance sheet and allowed P.A.M. to repay a portion of outstanding debt.
