The land-based portion of Geologic Solutions’ MobileMax Multi-Mode wireless communications system can now use the Cingular GPRS service, a high-speed digital network with wide national coverage.

The new Cingular digital network option is offered as an alternate land-based communications choice for both new and existing customers, according to GeoLogic. Fleets can choose to use GeoLogic’s current land-based network, Cingular or a combination of both for the terrestrial portion of the multi-mode system. The GPRS option is compatible with all MobileMax units, including those already on the road, as well as with all current dispatch systems, the company says.

MobileMax uses both land- and satellite-based wireless service in its multi-mode system to provide complete communications coverage at the lowest possible cost.
