U.S. Steel Creates Logistics Subsidiary

Pittsburgh-based U. S. Steel Group, a unit of USX Corp., has formed a logistics subsidiary from its internal distribution and logistics services department. Pittsburgh-based U. S. Steel Group, a unit of USX Corp., has formed a logistics subsidiary from its internal distribution and logistics services department.

Transtar Logistics LLC is a newly created wholly owned subsidiary of U. S. Steel’s direct subsidiary, Transtar.

Thomas W. Sterling, president of Transtar, has appointed Keith H. Jansen president of the new subsidiary. Arlene F. Fatalino has been appointed vp – administrative services and Robert H. Webster has been appointed vp – operating services.

Transtar Logistics will continue to provide all logistics services necessary to support the shipment of U. S. Steel products. Additionally, Transtar Logistics will market its domestic and international logistics services available to a broad range of related industries.
