Save On Energy Inc. announced today that it has completed the development of a new digital fuel-control system for using natural gas in heavy-duty vehicles and stationary diesel engines. The system will allow natural gas to replace up to 80% of a diesel engine's fuel requirements.

The system is designed to precisely meter natural gas into the combustion cycle throughout the engine's operating torque and power curves. Save On Energy says the system is unique from previous designs and the competition in that it allows natural gas to be injected into the combustion cycle at engine idle.

The equipment will be supplied by Save On Energy's subsidiary company, Electronic Fuel Control, located in Atlanta.
