Logistics.com, a transportation management system developer based in Burlington, MA, has updated its OptiBid Lane software so it can negotiate service contracts across all freight modes.

The company said the updated version of OptiBid Lane allows shippers to rapidly procure transportation service contracts over the Internet and standardize the Request-For-Quote process across all modes of transportation, not just trucking.

"Increasingly, corporations are looking for a way to efficiently procure domestic and global transportation services and take that process in-house," said Joe Wagner, senior vp-global sales and marketing for Logistics.com. "The new self-service version of OptiBid Lane is aimed at small- and medium-sized shippers with moderately complex networks and large shippers with highly experienced transportation purchasing staff.
