As part of its accelerating growth plan, and continuous service improvements, Daylight Transport president Doug Waggoner said the LTL, TL and logistics provider will double its Los Angeles terminal capacity.
Waggoner said it plans to re-engineer its Southern California freight flow network to achieve more efficiency and capacity. It will merge its Anaheim terminal into its expanded Los Angeles complex.
“The new mega-terminal in Los Angeles will allow us to combine operations from both our Los Angeles and Anaheim terminals into one state-of-the-art handling facility,” Waggoner said, adding that the expanded facility will provide improved efficiencies for direct loading and improved line-haul utilization, increasing freight handling and warehousing capacity.
“The bottom line is that it means improved transit times and less handling of freight into and out of our Southern California network,” Waggoner said.
The transition will begin Monday and should be completed by June 1, 2001.
Daylight owns an additional 29.2 acres in Fontana, CA, where plans for a 200 door facility are underway.
