Dana Celebrates its 100th

Today marks Dana Corp.’s 100th birthday. Company founder Clarence Spicer, an engineer, began producing his encased universal joint on April 1, 1904. Charles Dana, an attorney and financer, became involved in 1914 and expanded u-joint production and added axles, frames, transmissions, and engine products to the company’s line.

Toledo, OH-based Dana Corp. designs and manufactures products and systems for automotive, commercial, and off-highway vehicles.
