TransForce, has completed a $72.7-million deal for Canadian Freightways, a subsidiary of the bankrupt U.S.-based Consolidated Freightways Corp. The purchase, announced in August, stipulates that Canadian Freightways will operate as an independent division of TransForce under its current management. The purchase, announced in August, stipulates that Canadian Freightways will operate as an independent division of TransForce under its current management.

This action comes on the heels of TransForce’s acquisition this month of Quebec trucking company Transport George Lacaille Ltee.
