Diesel up 0.4 cents to $2.16

The national average for a gallon of diesel rallied 0.4 cents last week to average $2.16, according to the Energy Information Administration. This marks the end of a 13.3-cent streak of price breaks over the previous five weeks.

Some regions posted a decline in prices, with the Rocky Mountain region showing the largest at 2.8 cents to $2.179. The Midwest saw the largest increase at 1.5 cents to $2.134. Despite this run-up, the Midwest remains the cheapest region in which to purchase diesel. California prices are still the steepest, at $2.367 after a 0.6-cent drop.
