Con-Way Central Express plans to open two new service facilities this month outside Clearfield, PA, and Providence, RI. The Pennsylvania terminal, a 58-ft, 26,000-sq-ft facility located on an 18.5-acre site, will serve as major relay point between Midwest and Northeast markets. It will allow for the reduction of transit times from two-days to one day in 78 freight delivery lanes to and from selected points in New York, New Jersey and Ohio, said Con-Way. The 62-door Rhode Island facility will replace an existing terminal in Seekonk, MA. It will have 30 more doors than the Seekonk facility and an additional 19,000 square feet of dock space.

Con-Way Southern Express is building a new freight assembly center in Glenpool, OK, which it plans to have operational by next March. The 80-door, 37,000-sq-ft foot service center will have a 12,000-sq-ft fueling and maintenance area nearby.
