Seattle-based package-delivery operation Airborne Express has expanded its Internet site to include a range of new shipping functions. New features include the creation of a single sign-on function for customers who ship, receive and pay invoices online.

Customers that use Airborne's eCourier secure document transfer service will also be able to register once, then have only one log-in for immediate access to these secure web services in the future.

Other new features include ShipExchange, which allows individual and small business customers to manage a wide variety of shipping activities, including printing labels; sending emails to the recipients with their airbill number and a personal link for tracking purposes; importing addresses into their address book; and printing various reports of shipping activity. CorporateExchange, designed for companies with multiple users, offers the same services as ShipExchange, but with additional administrative controls and restrictions on shipping parameters.

One of Airborne's strategic growth initiatives has been to make its services more attractive and convenient for the small business customer, so it is giving business customers that sign up for services via its web site and by phone up to 20% discounts over published rates of competitors. Also, shippers who purchase Airborne’s prepaid Flight-Ready products via its Internet site will save at least 10% over standard rates.
