Frances Closes Florida Roads
Several major roads in Florida are currently closed due to flooding and debris left in the wake of Hurricane Frances.
The following roads are among those closed:
- I-10 Eastbound in Columbia county at the 301 mile marker
- I-95 Southbound exit to Eaugallie in Brevard county is restricted to emergency vehicles
- US-98 from Panacea to the Ochlockonee River
- US-98 to St. Marks
- SR-64 East of US-17
- SR-64 Westbound at US-17
- SR-520 South of SR-528
- US-1 and Ambersand is restricted to emergency vehicles

NATSO (National Association of Truck Stop Operators) told Fleet Owner its members have reported no fuel shortages or disruptions as a result of the hurricane.
“I have been talking to corporate offices since Thursday in anticipation of the hurricane,” said NATSO spokesperson Sharon Corigliano. “I have not heard anything from our members.”
In a sharp contrast, The Wall Street Journal reported long lines at gasoline pumps and gas stations that ran dry as gasoline deliveries were disrupted by the hurricane.
“I hope people make the distinction between a gas station and a truckstop,” Corigliano noted.
