Spill Center, a company specializing in incident support and environmental claims management service for hazardous materials carriers, has opened a new Hazmat Tracking Center that can be used with Qualcomm wireless communications systems for real-time response to incidents throughout the United States.

The new center integrates with both the OmniTRACS satellite-based system and the OmniExpress CDMA land-based service, according to Spill Center.

Drivers with either system can send pre-formatted messages with “emergency” priority that will automatically be routed by Qualcomm's network management hut to the hazmat service.

Center personnel can then immediately contact designated fleet personnel, emergency responders and any other service providers needed to control the incident.

In addition, alerts can be sent as faxes, emails, pages or text messages to distribution lists designated by the fleet customer.
