Landair's income declines

Truckload carrier Landair Corp. said its net income in the third quarter dropped slightly to $1.3 million on revenues of $25.5 million, down from net income of $1.6 million on revenues of $25.8 million. Those numbers are in stark contrast to the 20% jump in net income to $1.6 million in the second quarter Landair posted versus same period last year, despite a $697,000 decline in operating revenue

Truckload carrier Landair Corp. said its net income in the third quarter dropped slightly to $1.3 million on revenues of $25.5 million, down from net income of $1.6 million on revenues of $25.8 million.

Those numbers are in stark contrast to the 20% jump in net income to $1.6 million in the second quarter Landair posted versus same period last year, despite a $697,000 decline in operating revenue to $26.4 million.

For the nine months of 2002, Greenville, TN-based Landair said its net income went up 2% to $4.05 million on revenues of $77.5 million, compared to net income of $3.97 million on revenues of $81.9 million over the first nine months of 2001.
