Virginia I-95 detour next week

Feb. 24, 2005
Virginia DOT will detour I-95 traffic

Work by the Virginia Dept. of Transportation (VDOT) will impact nighttime traffic on I-95 in Stafford County, just north of Fredericksburg, on Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 to remove the old Rt. 627 Bridge over the interstate. VDOT estimates the detour will cause delays of at least 45 minutes for motorists.

One lane on each direction on I-95 will be closed on Mar. 2 as a result of the construction. Although a detour won’t be necessary, VDOT anticipates some delays.
