SPX Corp.'s Service Solution division has introduced a new truck air-conditioning service system called the ACR 2000, designed to handle R-134a refrigerants. Using only two connections to the vehicle, it can recover, recycle, evacuate and recharge truck A/C refrigerant. A red light on top of the unit flashes to alert technicians when the process is complete. Data snapshot capabilities are integrated into the system, so technicians can produce a printout of key diagnostic factors. The ACR 2000 operates via an oil-less vacuum pump, which requires 80% less maintenance than conventional power sources.
