Isao Toda has been named president of Bridgeport, NJ-based Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America Inc. (MFTA). He replaces Kazushige Kinoshita, who is returning to Japan to manage another subsidiary of parent company Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (MMC).

Toda, with MMC since 1971, most recently served as general manager of MMC Truck & Bus International’s sales and marketing department. He is no stranger to the U.S., having resided in Detroit from 1984-88 when he worked for the Mitsubishi Research & Development Assn.

“Mr. Kinoshita has been influential in helping to grow Mitsubishi Fuso during the last few years,” said Robert E. McDowell, MFTA executive vp & COO. “Fortunately for us, we’ll be working with Mr. Toda, a man just as talented and respected for his professionalism and medium-duty truck knowledge.”
