"The decision was made in response to widespread requests from our North American consumers and distributors," said Kevin Bryan, director of marketing for Shell Lubricants. "Each brand has a very distinct and loyal consumer base, and we are committed to the character and quality that each brand brings to these consumers."

The announcement follows last year's acquisition by Shell of Pennzoil-Quaker State Co.
