International extends ArvinMeritor agreement

International Truck and Engine Corp. has extended a supply agreement with ArvinMeritor Inc.'s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group to continue to supply the truckmaker front axles, rear axles, air brakes and automatic slack adjusters. International Truck and Engine Corp. has extended a supply agreement with ArvinMeritor Inc.'s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group to continue to supply the truckmaker front axles, rear axles, air brakes and automatic slack adjusters.

The seven-year supply agreement is valued at $1.2 billion, ArvinMeritor said.

The parts are standard databook position for the International 5000i- and 9000i-series tractors.

According to ArvinMeritor, the arrangement is designed to provide International's facility in Escobedo, Mexico, with modular assemblies of front and rear axles, brakes, hubs and drums, suspensions, wheel-speed sensors, and shock absorbers.
