FedEx Corp. announced today that it is contributing $2 million to relief efforts in New York City and Washington, D.C. The contribution will include $500,000 each in cash contributions to the American Red Cross and the United Way's September 11 Fund, as well as $1 million in in-kind services.

FedEx, an American Red Cross partner since 1995, announced in August the continuation of its long-standing alliance with the organization. FedEx committed to provide $1.25 million in cash contributions over the next five years to the American Red Cross. FedEx has also been a supporter of the United Way since 1975.

The FedEx corporate support to both the American Red Cross and the United Way is in addition to the many individual contributions of time, supplies and financial support already made by its employees, the company noted.
