    ArvinMeritor, Inc. began this week to supply North American Bus Industries, Inc. with supply axle/brake systems.

    ArvinMeritor began supplying NABI with heavy-duty axle and brake systems, including the Meritor 71000 series single reduction drive axle with Quiet Ride gearing, the FH-946 deep drop front non-drive steer axle and the DiscPlus EX225 air disc brake.

    In May 2003, ArvinMeritor announced an agreement to supply NABI with the Meritor 71000 series transit bus axles and EX225 air disc brakes for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (LACMTA) new 45-foot CompoBuses. The 71000 axle module, which features Quiet Ride gearing in addition to the DiscPlus package, is manufactured at ArvinMeritor's Newark, Ohio, facility, and meets the Altoona testing and "Buy America" requirements established by the Federal Transit Administration.
