Increased globalization and outsourcing of contract logistics have driven significant changes in the ninth edition of “Who’s Who In Logistics?” the guide to third-party logistics providers published by logistics management consulting firm Armstrong & Associates Inc.

This edition of the guide to contract logistics providers contains new information on over 30 new European and Asian third-party logistics providers. The guide also reflects the consolidation going on in third-party logistics. Over 300 mergers and acquisitions have taken place annually among European logistics providers of late. In the U.S., the formation by six major truckload carriers of Transplace.com has been another pivotal industry change.

“By significantly expanding the international sections, we have made it much easier for people to find 3PLs who can do the job,” said Richard Armstrong, president and founder of Armstong & Associates. “When we get the Internet version operating this summer, we will also have a premium tool for those who need day-to-day updates.”

The ninth edition of “Who’s Who In Logistics?” is published in two volumes. The hard-copy guide has 500 pages. It is also available on diskette.
